BBC STARGAZING LIVE 2013 (Public Event)
We are hearing rumours that BBC Stargazing Live 2013 will once more take place in January. As part of any Stargazing Live programme of events, we plan to hold an event here at RAYGILL which is a DARK SKY SITE!
For the past 2 years the format has been for the BBC to show 3 live television programmes (Presumably on 7, 8 and 9 January 2013). These live programmes are then followed up by events that are to be held throughout the UK. Raygill Astronomy Club and Keighley Astronomical Society plan to hold a BBC Stargazing Live event on Wednesday 9th January at Raygill Lakes in Lothersdale. BD20 8HH. We plan to have some activities, and hopefully some stargazing with the society’s telescopes (weather permitting). Suitable for all ages.
WE WILL BE SHOWING THE LIVE TV SHOW ON A SCREEN AS IT GOES OUT ON THE BBC.
There is NO CHARGE for attending this event.
Cafe will be open for teas and coffees.
