Saturday 24th January an interest day was held at the University Academy Keighley Organised by Mrs Janet Armstrong. Around 35 guides took part in three rocket workshops
run by Society chairman Paul Neaves. The students learnt the basics of rocket science via a presentation and audio visual material.
The basics of space and rocket science the theme centered around the space missions to mars. The guides then designed and constructed their own compress air rockets and launched them using the KAS designed launch platform. The launching of the rockets was a competition where the rocket which reached the maximum range was the winner. The winning student was warded a medal for their success. A good and enjoyable day was had by all.
