Saturday 5th March 2016 was the annual Keighley Brownie interest day held at the University academy campus, at Green Head Lane. Brownie groups from across the Keighley area spent a full day of activities.
Keighley Astronomical society conducted four workshops, during the course of the day, where the subject was space exploration and rockets. Each student constructed her own paper rocket. They were tested in flight with a compressed air launcher. The students whose rocket travelled the furthest were presented with a society medal.
The astronomy societies participation in this event was part funded by a grant from the Craven Trust.
