Saturday 7th March 2015 saw Keighley Astronomical Society take part in the Brownies interest day held at the University Academy Keighley. It was a full day of rockets and launching, for society chairman Paul Neaves; assisted on this occasion by officers from Bradford astronomical society.

A total of sixty Brownies took part in learning about the basic of rocket science, which in turn culminated in them in designing and constructing their own compressed air rockets. The rockets were launched indoors on this occasion. Medals and prizes were awarded to the candidates that had launched their rockets over the longest distance.

This project was part funded by funds awarded to Keighley astronomical society, by Skipton building societies, Grassroots giving, fund.
